6 Jun

My kids are driving me bananas. My husband works out of town. My house is a wreck. There are 9,000 other things I need to be doing, but if I don’t spend a few minutes locked in my office blogging, then I may lose my mind. Does anyone else know the feeling?!?!

I promise I will do my coupon class part 5 later tonight, but for right now, here are my latest savings…

This week, at these two stores I spent $47.83 and saved $94.84!!!

As most of y’all know, I no longer have a thyroid and my life literally depends on my synthroid. Therefore I LOVE LOVE LOVE those coupons that say “transfer your prescription to our store and we’ll give you a $25 gift card.”  Y’all, it is so easy to transfer a RX. I would transfer it every month if I had the coupons for it!  Even if you don’t take medicine on a regular basis, you should clip these! (or give them to me 🙂 Yesterday I had my synthroid filled at Kroger and they put $25 worth of free groceries on my  rewards card. Here are the groceries I got for FREE. (I didn’t even use coupons!! I just bought items on sale)

5 boxes of Annies macaroni

2 boxes of Cascadian Farms Cereal

2 bags of Pirates’ Booty

2 Endangered Species Organic Dark Choclocate Bars

1 bunch of bananas

1 Organic Avacado

I have said it before, but I really usually hate the drug store deals. I feel like it’s easy to overspend or to have to buy additional items just to use your rewards dollars. But today I got great deals!!

We are out of all milk, cheese, fruit, eggs, etc., so I had to send my sweet, loving, adoring, husband out to Publix today. He even took my coupons! After I spotted this sunscreen deal, he was nice enough to make a trip to Target too!

This week Target has several Aveeno sunscreens Buy 2 get a $5 gift card. I think there were some that were cheaper than the spray kind, but I specifically asked Jarrod to grab this kind for our trip to Vegas!

Shopping this Week 4/27 {Publix and Target} Big Savings!

27 Apr

This has been a weirdo shopping week for me. I’m such a creature of habit, and I’m out of my routine.

To avoid taking my children to the store while Jarrod was working out of town, my mom picked up a few things for me when she went on her weekly trip (nice huh?!). I’ve made a several small trips to the store here and there, so there aren’t any big noteworthy trips.

I did get a couple of deals that I thought we worth mentioning…

Spent: $16.13

Saved: $40.05!!

Occasionally Publix runs deals called “buy theirs, get ours free.” I usually don’t participate in these deals, because most of the time they’re on items we don’t use. Right now they’re running this deal, and several of these items are organic! This deal is running through 5/02!

Newman’s Own Organic Coffee- On sale for $6.99. I bought one and got the Publix brand of Organic coffee ($6.59) for FREE!! That’s $3.50 per bag– An AMAZING deal on organic coffee. I normally buy the Publix brand greenwise coffee any way, so this was a double bang for my buck! (I’m stocking up on this deal next week!) Savings of $6.59!

Smucker’s Organic Strawberry Preserves- $3.89. I bought one and got the Publix Organic Preserves ($2.99) for FREE!! That’s only $1.94 each! Savings of $2.99!

One of my FAVORITE (again I’m a shameless grocery nerd) things to do is check out clearance sections. My Publix has a rack between the beer section and the frozen pizza section that contains all of the discontinued items. These items are usually deeply discounted, and a lot of times they’ll have beauty products or organic items too! When matched with a coupon, you can land free or very cheap items!  Make sure you check expiration dates-just in case.

Today I spotted these amazing discounts:

Weleda Baby Shampoo and Body wash- Regularly $11.49 on clearance for only $1.50 each. I bought 2. That’s a savings of $19.98!

Weleda Baby Face Cream- Regularly $12.49 on clearance for only $1.50 each. I bought 1. That’s a savings of $10.49!

Nuk Pacifier- Regularly $ 3.69 on clearance for only $0.75. That’s a savings of $2.94!

Spent $7.46

Saved $5.74

GE Lightbulbs (8 bulbs)-  I’ve been seeing on the blogs that Target has their bulbs on sale for $2.99 this week. You can use (1) $1/1 Manufacturer’s printable, and (1) $2/1 Target printable to make them FREE. I didn’t see any bulbs at my Target priced at $2.99 BUT I did see something even better!!

I saw an 8 pack of bulbs Originally $9.99 on CLEARANCE for only $2.98. I used the coupons listed above and got an 8 pack of lightbulbs for FREE! (They still had several of these packs on the shelf at the Target on Columbia Avenue)

Honest Kids Organic Juice Boxes- On sale for only $2.99. I used (1) $1/1 Target printable coupon. My total was  only $1.99.

Bear Naked Granola- Regularly $3.79. On sale for only $2.99. I can usually get this cheaper,  but I didn’t have a coupon and I needed it.

Annie’s Macaroni- On sale for only $1.25 per box

Annie’s Ravioli- On sale for only $1.25 per can

It’s Here! My Julep Maven Box! $60 of products for 1 cent!

19 Apr

Has anyone ever told you, “Mama knows best?” Well, if you didn’t listen to good ole Mama Goose, you should have! Remember {this post} from a few days ago? I blogged about a deal on the Julep Maven Box. The box is a monthly service that provides $40-$45 (this box was worth $60!) worth of products every month for only $19.99! (I think I may ask for this for Christmas).  I signed up for the box, and used a promo code that made the first month cost only 1 penny. After the box shipped, I canceled the monthly service. It was super easy, the customer service rep at Julep could not have been sweeter, and I will definitely use them again!

I am SO pleased with these products (especially for ONE CENT!). If you did the deal, I hope you are happy too!

I received 2 nail polishes($14 each), 1 nail file, and 1 glycolic hand scrub ($32).

My Target Trip…Spent $30 and SAVED $49!

27 Mar

OMG, the savings! I am so thrilled about these deals that it’s almost embarrassing. As you all know, Easter is right around the corner, but did you know that my baby turns 3 on April 3rd?!? (I’ll be blogging about the party, don’t you worry!…hint… it involves tutus.)

Needless to say, I am ALL about stocking up on toys, and I know a good deal when I see one! Here’s what I got at Target this week, and you can too!

If you don’t have kids, PLEASE buy the board game deals and DONATE! It’s only a couple of dollars, and there are so many kids in need who would love a brand new toy! Graceworks loves donations…

{Shopping this week} KASHI and ALMONDS

16 Mar

Pretty much anyone I came in contact with on Wednesday (aka shopping day) will totally understand why I have zero pictures of my shopping from this week. If you haven’t heard already, Wednesday was a hard mommy day for me. Everyone is healthy, there were no major emergencies, BUT if anything could go wrong, then it did go wrong. Let’s just say the day ended with a crying mommy and a tall glass of wine. I guess it happens to the best of us!

Don’t let that sweet face fool you…

Or this one either…

While I was thinking about it, I did want to let you in on two deals that I thought were pretty good this week:

1) KASHI products- If you don’t know about Recyclebank,  you’re missing out! Here’s the gist: Sign up to be a member of Recyclebank, take short quizzes (4-5 questions), play games, watch short (like 1-2 min) videos, and earn points. Points lead to rewards. My favorite rewards are the HIGH VALUE coupons (but they have other rewards too!)

This week  through Recyclebank, I earned (2) $2/1 Kashi coupons. Publix has Kashi All Natural Frozen Pizzas on sale for $5 each. I used one of my coupons and got the Kashi pizza for only $3!! (They’re normally around $6-$7!) I used my second coupon to buy Kashi cereal. The price was $3.49, so I got a box of Kashi cereal for $1.49!

I saved $4 with Recyclebank coupons, and it only took me about 10 minutes to earn my points.

(That’s like getting paid $0.4o a minute which would equal $24/hr just to play a few games on Recyclebank…)

2) Blue Diamond Almonds 6 oz. cans– $3.03 per can. This week they are on sale BOGO. You can get 2 cans for $3.03. I bought 4 cans, and use (4) $1/1 coupons from the newspaper. My total for 4 cans was $2.06 or $0.51 each!! That’s a savings of $10.06!
