I never really post too much about drug store deals. A lot of times I feel like people can be sucked in by the “rewards” the store offers, and not really realize that they’re spending more money that than wanted/needed/ or thought they were going to! However, if you NEED an item, and there is another item offering rewards dollars, then why not leave the store with 2 items instead of 1, but spend the same amount of moolah.
For example, at CVS you receive extra care bucks for items that are advertised as doing so. These print on your receipt. If you buy an item that cost $5, you pay $5, but the rewards print out on your receipt. On your second transaction you can used your $5 ECB’s as credit on your total bill.
The reason I am wary of these deals, is that I will find myself buying the “free item” and then on my second transaction buying something that I didn’t really need in the first place just because I had the ECB’s. I ONLY hit up the CVS, WAGS, and RITE AID sales if I need a couple of items, and have coupons for them.
Also, a lot of times common items are marked up so much higher at the drug stores that you may be thinking you are getting a good deal, but actually be in the red.
